Asian Hunting for
Marco Polo and Ibex in
Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan

Asian Mountain Hunting is one of the most unique and adventurous hunting experiences in the world and Marco Polo and Mid-Asian Ibex are at the top of the list. Bryan will be taking hunters over once or twice per year - late Fall (Sep/Oct/Nov) and Winter (Jan or Feb) for these hunts. Currently, the USFWS is not issueing any CITES permits for Kyrgyzstan Marco Polo. Up to 60 CITES import permits will be issued for Tajikistan Marco Polo for the 2008 season.

Bryan has been to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan numerous times since 2002, personally escorting and acting as an additional, professional guide. This is a service is unique to Asian Mountain Outfitters. Many companies can organize a great hunt, but we can add the extra touch of a qualified and competent personal escort and guide. There is an additional charge for this service, but it is well worth the extra cost. We have a solid network of very capable and experienced, professional sheep guides ready to accompany our hunters. This service is invaluable, especially for a first time Asian Hunter.

In addition to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, we work directly with reputable guides and outfitters in Mongolia (All three species of Argali Sheep: High Altai, Hungai (Mid) and Gobi plus both Ibex Species: Gobi and Altai) and Azerbaijan for Tur. Mongolia has drastically reduced permits for both their Argali and Ibex, so hunting opportunities are very restricted there. In Azerbaijan, Horseback and hiking hunts are avilable for the Tur, but either way, it is still a physically demanding hunt.

If you are interested in any of the other, Central Asian, Turkey or Russian Hunts for Snow Sheep (all species), Brown Bear, moose and Ibex, we have connections to agencies who can assist our clients with these hunts also. The hunting opportunities, for the adventuresome are endless. They are as much of an adventure as they are a hunt. Success rates are also typically very high on any of the hunts we offer.

We provide the same type of services that all of the well known International companies provide - booking the hunt, travel arrangements, permits, etc. plus we offer the added option of an American or Canadian, English speaking guide. We work directly with the local outfitters and you will also have a local guide and assistant with you. Most of the hunts are conducted with Jeeps and horses. Prices start at $24,000 USD for a 8-10 day Marco Polo Hunt and $6,000 for a 7-day Ibex Hunt. The Ibex hunt is an excellent value as no special permits are required and they are very plentiful. More than 1 Ibex can be taken on a hunt. In order to hunt Marco Polo, a hunter has to obtain a US CITES Permit; applications are due to the USFWS by May 1st, the year of the hunt. This is on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. We will assist hunters in all Permit and Visa applications, travel arrangement and equipment planning.
