Grizzly Bears are hunted in early and mid September and are very plentiful. We hunt them like we would hunt for sheep: glassing big, steep old mountain burns, which are full of blueberry and huckleberry bushes. The area has produced record class Grizzly, with up to 25” skulls, but we only have 2 Grizzly permits/year, so hunting opportunities are limited. The best grizzly area also has many trophy moose and goats and even a few caribou, black bear and Stone Sheep. This is one of the best mixed bag hunting areas we have ever seen for a variety of trophies in a relatively small area.
