Stone Sheep season opens on August 1st and goes until October 15th. Most of our hunts take place in August. This area has sheep in many different locations. The population is not high, but if hunters work hard, there are some big rams. Most of the sheep area have good goat, caribou and/or moose hunting also. We use a combination of horses and backpacking to access the sheep country. This area has produced three of the biggest Stone Sheep taken in the last 20 years, winning the FNAWS/Wild Sheep Gold Awards for the 1997, 2008 and 2009 hunting seasons, with rams ranking way up in the B&C record books.
